It’s an excellent adaptation
In the timeless town of Macondo, seven generations of the Buendía family navigate love, oblivion, and the inevitability of their past and destiny. This is Netflix’s most expensive project in Latin America to date, with Colombian and indigenous communities building the props and sets for the series.
We start with great cinematography, a good script, and creative direction with an approach that respects the original work
He also adapts the events of the book with dedication and uses resources such as concept art to enhance the narrative. At the same time, it pays homage to what Colombia is as a people and society, ethnically and culturally.
Traditions, music, food, and racial diversity are part of the universe of Macondo, as well as the history that makes up the years of Colombia’s violent past
This makes room for its timeline, which is completely natural, resulting in a slightly different product in terms of content, but without any negative connotations for the development of the story. It is in fact a very dedicated and quite faithful work that evokes nostalgia for One Hundred Years of Solitude and its artistic impact on later generations, who were influenced by Latin American literature and the works of García Marquez.
