David Kaplan: Yes
Misfit cousins reunite for a tour of Poland to honor their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a turn when old tensions resurface between the odd couple amid their family history. When Benjy and David visit their grandmother’s house in Poland, it’s the place where Jesse Eisenberg, our real-life ancestors, settled in the diaspora. Benjy Kaplan: We keep moving, we keep light, we keep flexible. Benjy Kaplan: The conductor comes by, takes the tickets, and we tell him we’re going to the bathroom. David Kaplan: Bathroom. Benjy Kaplan: He gets to the back of the train, works his way to the front, and looks for stragglers.
Benji Kaplan: Yes
David Kaplan: Sorry, we’re the stragglers? When he gets to the front, the train is at the station and we’re free. David Kaplan: That’s so stupid. Tickets are probably about twelve dollars. Benji Kaplan: That’s how it works. In Poland, we don’t have to pay for train tickets. This is our country.
I really enjoyed A Real Pain
David Kaplan: No, it’s not, this was our country. They kicked us out because they thought we were cheap. Featured on CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #46.44 (2024). 12 Etudes, Op. 25, No. 3 in F major, written by Frédéric Chopin, performed by Zvi Erez. It’s about two cousins, played by Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin, who travel to Poland and go on a tour that includes visiting an old concentration camp.
I thought the film was realistic
So, of course, the film gets dark, but it’s also funny and heartwarming. The cousins go out and smoke weed together. Sometimes their relationship isn’t comfortable, but I can tell they love each other. Eisenberg also wrote and directed the film, and he did a great job. The story, acting, cinematography, editing and the like are all great. There are a lot of wonderful shots. The concentration camp scene is touching and respectful.
I just love this film
During the film, I felt sad at times. I guess the cousins were really important to me. There are no scenes that went on too long. “True Pain” definitely one of my favorite films of the year. Of course, I highly recommend watching it. From Alien: Romulus to Road House, take a look back at some of our favorite posters from 2024.
